Fascinating and very good presentation. I didn't know there was audiophilia going on back then, with different kind of parts yielding the different sounds that we heard. Bravo, Mike! |
An unusual meeting focusing on high end of long long ago. Fun to learn about these old technologies. |
Interesting to see and hear what was the SOTA of the time. |
Well, that was a tour de force presentation! Mike really knows his stuff and put a lot of effort into this meeting. I hope everyone had a good time. I was struck by the fact that low-fi didn't catch up and surpass this technology sound-wise until the seventies when FM stereo radios became prevalent. |
Great fun and a definite education. With no electricity Mike held our attention better than most meeting hosts. His knowledge and powers of explanation took us back in time to a better understanding of the mid 1920's through 30's music industry. Many great questions from our members steered the conversation and helped Mike broaden some points. Plus hearing how much could be stamped on a wax disc was an eye opening experience for most who attended. Thank you for hosting. |
Sick again. :( |
Really interesting - a trip back in time. Thanks, Mike! And thanks to the Wales for helping to provide a venue. |
Exceptional meeting! Mike Devecka's passion for and knowledge of 1920's and 30's all mechanical playback were infectious! |
